Flavor In The Street

Hello World! Flavor In The Street was something I wanted to do, because I felt I had grown since my previous websites. I feel like I was seeing blogging from a different perspective. At one time, I saw this as more of something I did for fun, and I still continue to see blogging as this, but I also have grown a passion for it. I'm getting a platform, where I get to fully express my views on topics in music. I feel like my opinion is rarely heard, and I want to be viewed as the voice of my generation soon. We never get a platform to talk, and it's now just the beginning.

The idea of Flavor In The Street was just to restart my brand. I had gotten the idea of the title from one of my favorite shows, "Living Single" along with the slang, 'Word On The Street.' As many of you know, Khadijah James had owned a magazine company titled, "Flavor." I got the idea by combining the two, which later birthed 'Flavor In The Street.'

I'm quite a hard-working kid. I manage to keep my grades together, while running this blog. I've never quite looked into adding more writers to help grow the brand, but of course I'm open to trying new ideas. I plan to adventure quite a lot when I get older, and my taste in music varies.

Mario Announces Comeback Tour (Around Grammy Weekend) + Set To Release New Material?

Mario is making quite the return. After the release of "Somebody Else," many including myself, were wondering when we would be getting the release of his next single. It turns out Mario will now be going independent, as he has officially joined a new digital entertainment company, "Rivers Media Group," which he helped develop. I must say, it's quite a surprise to know that Mario will be going independent. I feel with most artist going independent, they aren't exactly able to manage themselves well. Take a look at an artist like Mya for an example. She's a great artist. She's released 2 EP's last year, and did they get any kind of recognition? True, most EP's don't get much comercial success, and Mya is an R&B artist, so this only says a lot for Mario. He's had countless hits, but I'm just hoping he will be able to manage himself well, since he is independent now. With new music, also means a new tour! Mario has stated that he plans on touring around the Grammy Weekend, which we'll definitely be interesting.

Mario has only released one single so far, from his indepedent label, and all I'm saying is, maybe Mario should slow down with this project. Mario hasn't had a hit in years. I don't think he's exactly ready to go on tour, unless it includes various other acts. He wouldn't be able to hold a arena by himself, even if he is talented.

At this point in his career, he should be focusing on his return. Mario revealed more on what we could expect this year from him saying, "I’ve always been a much broader artist than I’ve ever been portrayed. But, I honestly had little to no control over what the world heard or saw from me before now. I set out to change that not just for myself, but for other artists as well. I soon realized that I needed to heed my own advice. I needed to believe in myself. While my previous label had trouble seeing me as more than a niche artist, I knew I was called to a greater platform. The problem was that I wasn’t sure I could do much about it without their hand. I had to get out of that mind state. I had to do something about it." I'll definitely be following Mario around this journey.
