Flavor In The Street

Hello World! Flavor In The Street was something I wanted to do, because I felt I had grown since my previous websites. I feel like I was seeing blogging from a different perspective. At one time, I saw this as more of something I did for fun, and I still continue to see blogging as this, but I also have grown a passion for it. I'm getting a platform, where I get to fully express my views on topics in music. I feel like my opinion is rarely heard, and I want to be viewed as the voice of my generation soon. We never get a platform to talk, and it's now just the beginning.

The idea of Flavor In The Street was just to restart my brand. I had gotten the idea of the title from one of my favorite shows, "Living Single" along with the slang, 'Word On The Street.' As many of you know, Khadijah James had owned a magazine company titled, "Flavor." I got the idea by combining the two, which later birthed 'Flavor In The Street.'

I'm quite a hard-working kid. I manage to keep my grades together, while running this blog. I've never quite looked into adding more writers to help grow the brand, but of course I'm open to trying new ideas. I plan to adventure quite a lot when I get older, and my taste in music varies.

Listen To Letoya's Tune, "I'm Ready" + Preps For The Release Of Her New Album, "Until Then"

Letoya hasn't been in the music scene in a minute. Letoya announced earlier, that she was working on some new material soon, and today, we got a taste of what she was cooking up in the studio with her first official single, "I'm Ready." Now, like many know, Letoya had a big downfall in her career after the departure with her other members of Destiny's Child. I still seem to hold a grudge, because in my opinion, I think Letoya had potential as an artist, and she didn't get a chance to go high in her career, due to that time period in her career.

Anyway, (cause I hate to bring that up) with her first official single, I actually like it! I wasn't too sure where Letoya was gonna go musically with this track, because based on her latest studio albums, I was left unimpressed. This new record reminds me of a track by Demetria Mckinney, based on the vocal performance. She sounds cute, but it doesn't have strong potential in my opinion, based on doing well on the charts. It's clear that, that's not Letoya's fault, because this track is actually a decent quality record, but you know how airplay works nowadays. They don't seem to give new artist a chance anymore. She honestly could go somewhere with this track, like I honestly think this is my 2nd favorite track from Letoya. (behind "Torn")

I wish this project was set up properly as well. The fact that she released this on her own youtube channel, and that she has a lazy single cover, tells me a lot. Letoya deserves better. It's time for new changes in music. Tell me if you think Letoya's new single, "I'm Ready" has strong potential to sell well? I'll definitely be buying this, once it gets released on iTunes. Be sure to look out for Letoya's new album, "Until Then."
