Chris Brown’s ‘Royalty’ Predicted To Sell…
Chris Brown's new album 'Royalty' is expected to sell 125-135k copies (150-160k including streams) in its first week of release in the US.
I will admit I was wrong, because I didn’t expect such well predictions for Chris Brown’s ‘Royalty.’ At the most, I would’ve predicted him to sell 60K or maybe 70K. These are actually great numbers today in the music industry, and for an R&B artist at that. I was quite surprised by these predictions. I had listed reasons in my previous articles (on him) on why I didn’t think his new album would do well, such as overexposure and Chris not exactly being an artist whose high in demand. Still, it’s great to see his fan base supporting his music. Possibly fans believed this would be a personal album, since he named it after his daughter and included her on the album cover. (Or) maybe I’m just having trouble accepting the predictions. Like I said, I really didn’t expect these numbers. Congrats to Chris and his loyal fan base.
Hopefully, Chris does take a break following this album. I was thinking if he received low numbers, he would come to that conclusion (that maybe it’s time he takes a break). That way his music is in higher demand when he returns.
Anyway, I’m curious to hear if you bought the album, and if so, what were your favorite songs? I didn’t really want to listen to his album, though I did. I decided I would give it a listen, and I liked five songs. What bothered me though is the auto tune on the album.
