Omarion Speaks About His Grammy Snub For ‘Post To Be’
I think every year there’s that one artist who’s upset about not receiving a Grammy nominations. This year, that artist would be Omarion, who expressed his feelings earlier on social media about not receiving a Grammy nomination for ‘Best Collaboration.’
I was reading a tweet that made a great point about this. He was nominated for a ‘Soul Train Music Award’ for ‘Post To Be’ and he won, though he didn’t attend the show. I think he needs to humble himself. Where was he when this award show was acknowledging him and his work? I hate when artists ignore award shows that acknowledge them. I don’t think he should’ve been nominated. The song was mainly popular for one of Jhene Aiko’s lines. (You gotta eat the booty like groceries)
This isn’t a song worth arguing about, especially if he thinks it’s one of the greatest R&B collaborations. Doesn’t necessarily mean I think those who were nominated should’ve been nominated, though I don’t think ‘Post To Be’ should be nominated.
Read what Omarion had to say about his Grammy snub below:
"Post to be" is one of the greatest R&B collaborations ever. CB, Jhene, & myself been in the game 10+. Even though people act like its easy to make a hit (& it's not). As an artist you look forward to being acknowledged by the game. The odds have always been against me. I constantly prove you wrong. I'll consistently do great things & you will have to celebrate me. This isn't a "im upset" (post to be) rant. This is a- ok so that wasn't good enough. I'll be back. Have my Grammy's ready. The game has long changed since I was introduced to it. They want to still treat me like I'm a new to this. My moment is coming trust. So when it's all said & done. Remember. I prophesied it. It's my destiny. I was destined. Chosen."
