Flavor In The Street

Hello World! Flavor In The Street was something I wanted to do, because I felt I had grown since my previous websites. I feel like I was seeing blogging from a different perspective. At one time, I saw this as more of something I did for fun, and I still continue to see blogging as this, but I also have grown a passion for it. I'm getting a platform, where I get to fully express my views on topics in music. I feel like my opinion is rarely heard, and I want to be viewed as the voice of my generation soon. We never get a platform to talk, and it's now just the beginning.

The idea of Flavor In The Street was just to restart my brand. I had gotten the idea of the title from one of my favorite shows, "Living Single" along with the slang, 'Word On The Street.' As many of you know, Khadijah James had owned a magazine company titled, "Flavor." I got the idea by combining the two, which later birthed 'Flavor In The Street.'

I'm quite a hard-working kid. I manage to keep my grades together, while running this blog. I've never quite looked into adding more writers to help grow the brand, but of course I'm open to trying new ideas. I plan to adventure quite a lot when I get older, and my taste in music varies.

John Legend Weighs In On Kanye Rant + Apologizes For Statement During Latest Interview:

Why has John Legend been getting himself into everything lately? Three days later after the Grammys, and it seems the "All Of Me" singer still has a lot to say, from Sunday night. From Beyonce's Selma performance, to his latest controversy, based on Beck winning "Album Of The Year." Earlier this week, John Legend took to US Weekly saying, "I thought it was funny.” I looked at it as just a funny thing that people were going to talk about. It didn’t hurt anybody,” the “All of Me” singer, 36, continued. “Anybody who’s upset just needs to relax. It was funny. Beck is super talented and I have several of his albums and I’ve listened to him for a long time. I think people were surprised that he won but that doesn’t mean he’s not deserving…”

First of all, no one ever knows when Kanye is joking, therefore many can't say this was funny, and that mainly goes for Beck. How would John Legend feel, not knowing Kanye, and having him walk up, as he wins the award for "Album of The Year." The award that many anticpated Beyonce would win. Everyone may have been laughing as Legend said, but the media kept their eyes on four particular celebs, and that's John Legend, Kim Kardashian, Beyonce, and Jay-Z. Many weren't even sure what Kanye West was up to as he walked on stage, therefore many didn't see this as a joke at first. By any means, was this funny, as he was interrupting Beck's acceptance speech. John Legend has now taken to Instagram (wow..) apologizing for his earlier comments saying, "I want to clarify my thoughts on Kanye’s actions at the Grammys on Sunday. First of all, Kanye is my friend. He believed in me years ago when very few did, and I wouldn’t be here without his support. That doesn’t mean we’ll agree on everything, but it does mean that I am grateful to him. And I also believe he is one of the most gifted people I’ve had the privilege of working with. In my comments to US Weekly, I said that when Kanye walked up on stage, mimicking his interruption of Taylor Swift’s VMA acceptance speech, then turned around as if he was just playing, most of the room including me saw this as funny, as a way of taking the piss out of himself for his infamous behavior several years ago. When I said that was funny and people should lighten up about it, that’s what I meant. I wasn’t referring to Kanye’s comments after the show which I have now seen and heard. I disagree with those comments. Beck is indeed a true artist’s artist. He’s a multi-instrumentalist, a creative and unique singer-songwriter whose music I have bought and enjoyed over the years. While his win may have been a surprise to many, it’s not because he’s not a great artist deserving of recognition. All of the other nominated artists, including Beyonce, are incredible in their own right, and arguments could be made for any of them deserving to win. This is not an objective process. It’s completely subjective, in fact. We can all debate who we thought should have won. But even if you didn’t vote for him, plenty of our colleagues in the music business did. These voters are all creators who love music and have dedicated their lives to it, and the plurality of them chose Beck as the Album of the Year. I respect their decision and congratulate Beck on this outstanding accomplishment.”

Many went on to ask John about the picture that was released on Kim Kardashian's instagram, that read, "This is the Beck won that award face?!?!?!," where John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, and Kim are seen, looking shocked. I somewhat believe that Kim made the caption herself, but John has went on to say for himself on twitter, that those pictures were taken before Beck won "Album Of The Year." Well, do you believe John Legend is telling the truth? Weigh in below..
