Listen To Mario's Leading Single, "Fireball" + Plans To Hit The Digital Retailers On February 23rd?
This week, the "Somebody Else," crooner Mario, released his leading single from "Evolve," Fireball. Ever since the news was announced about upcoming music from Mario, I've been excited. I am such a die-hard fan of Mario's, but I can honestly say that I'm not feeling this song.
It's pretty clear that Mario is following some type of trend, with this record, as the track has a similar concept lyrically, as many of the songs today in music. Also, it doesn't put a good start on the beginning of this era. This is almost as if Mario is starting fresh in the music industry, and this track just isn't a banger. What shocked me most was hearing Mario rap around the outro of the track. In my opinion, Mario doesn't have much competition in the industry, as he is probably one of the last remaining R&B artist in the industry, that can still sing. I really don't see why Mario feels the need to release a club record, as it's not saying much about this new beginning for him. Will he continue to follow this path with this new album? Will we get some ballads? Also, after looking at that single cover a couple of times, I feel like an announcement will come soon from Mario, that this is his "Sasha Fierce" AKA alter ego. This is just coming out of my curiosity, but I do personally think Mario should really consider his fans's views toward the track. Still overall, it's a pretty solid track. I mean, it doesn't do much for his vocal performance, except around the hook of the track. His harmonies sound great by the way (on the hook). Vocally, it seems like his only rivals are possibly Usher, and maybe Tank. (...I said Maybe) Weigh In on Mario's leading single from "Evolve" below! The song will be released on digital retailers February 23rd. (..My Birthday)
