Flavor In The Street

Hello World! Flavor In The Street was something I wanted to do, because I felt I had grown since my previous websites. I feel like I was seeing blogging from a different perspective. At one time, I saw this as more of something I did for fun, and I still continue to see blogging as this, but I also have grown a passion for it. I'm getting a platform, where I get to fully express my views on topics in music. I feel like my opinion is rarely heard, and I want to be viewed as the voice of my generation soon. We never get a platform to talk, and it's now just the beginning.

The idea of Flavor In The Street was just to restart my brand. I had gotten the idea of the title from one of my favorite shows, "Living Single" along with the slang, 'Word On The Street.' As many of you know, Khadijah James had owned a magazine company titled, "Flavor." I got the idea by combining the two, which later birthed 'Flavor In The Street.'

I'm quite a hard-working kid. I manage to keep my grades together, while running this blog. I've never quite looked into adding more writers to help grow the brand, but of course I'm open to trying new ideas. I plan to adventure quite a lot when I get older, and my taste in music varies.

Bryshere Gray Announces Inking A Record Deal/ Also Plans To Work With Timbaland On Project?

Recently during a promotional run, "Empire" star, Bryshere Gray revealed that he has also inked a recording deal.

Wow, this comes across as much of a surprise, as the only track I've actually heard from him on the show is "Drip Drop." I really think the deal, is regarding the success of the show itself. The show's rating increase each week, but I don't feel personally as if Bryshere should be signing to a record label, at such an early stage of his career.

Right now, both artist on "Empire" should really be enjoying the success of "Empire." As it seems the hype of the show we'll never die down, many won't be able to seperate their image on the show apart, from who they're in reality. With that, you have to also consider the sound. I'm not too sure, if Bryshere plans on signing the deal as a rapper, or does he also have a hidden talent of singing. Either way, we know he most likely got signed for his talents of rapping on "Empire." He has a cute bop every now and then on "Empire," but I never really took him serious regarding a music career. I just thought that was an act on the show. I was even questioning myself, if he wanted to actually be a music artist in the future of his career. That just never really came to me, that he really did. I don't feel, he will be respected as an artist. He just doesn't have that image, and he doesn't center around topics such as other rappers. Currently on "Empire," Bryshere raps about his recent love life with Camilla, which is pretty much 'age ain't nothing but a number.' Either way, his tracks are very cheesy. I don't see why they don't just stick to the Season soundtracks. Fans on "Empire" will buy those tracks. I don't think it's fair to seperate the actors, as they'll just be competing as solo artist. I also don't feel as if viewers of Bryshere wanted him to expand his career, as an artist. ("Drip Drop" is just catchy, and somewhat funny, if that had any part, in him receiving a deal.) (lol)

I just can't imagine taking him serious as a rapper. I mean, I really have to consider what that would be like. Is his personality similar to his personality on Empire, would be one question that I would have in mind, in regards to his future music career, because if so, that'll say a lot, towards where Bryshere goes with his music career. Most actors don't usually have chances as music artist, as viewers usually only accept them for their first talent. Considering that this is a show that centers around music, I'm not too sure. With all of this being said, I never thought the day would come where I would be writing that Bryshere would be getting a record deal. I expected to say this about Andre Lyon, before Hakeem, even if he doesn't actually sing on the show. Either way, out of all the actors, Jussie will get the most success. Also, I gotta say, based on Jussie's music influences, I really think he has a real chance in music. I'll try to accept him, maybe if he decides to venture out on producers. I really think with Jussie working with Timbaland, will intefere with the "Empire" sound. On top of all that, he loves my favorite artists, and wants them all to be on the show.

I'm pretty jealous. (Lol) Would you support Bryshere's career?
