Flavor In The Street

Hello World! Flavor In The Street was something I wanted to do, because I felt I had grown since my previous websites. I feel like I was seeing blogging from a different perspective. At one time, I saw this as more of something I did for fun, and I still continue to see blogging as this, but I also have grown a passion for it. I'm getting a platform, where I get to fully express my views on topics in music. I feel like my opinion is rarely heard, and I want to be viewed as the voice of my generation soon. We never get a platform to talk, and it's now just the beginning.

The idea of Flavor In The Street was just to restart my brand. I had gotten the idea of the title from one of my favorite shows, "Living Single" along with the slang, 'Word On The Street.' As many of you know, Khadijah James had owned a magazine company titled, "Flavor." I got the idea by combining the two, which later birthed 'Flavor In The Street.'

I'm quite a hard-working kid. I manage to keep my grades together, while running this blog. I've never quite looked into adding more writers to help grow the brand, but of course I'm open to trying new ideas. I plan to adventure quite a lot when I get older, and my taste in music varies.

Kelly Rowland Previews New Song, 'No Pressure'

Recently, Kelly Rowland took to Instagram, to tease her up-tempo cut titled, 'No Pressure.' The singer shared the snippet last night, as she was seen dancing and mouthing the lyrics.

I'm not too keen about 'No Pressure,' only because it doesn't put a fresh perspective to Kelly's new era. Sure, it's a new path from the previous sound fans have heard from Kelly, but it's clear that 'No Pressure' is a sound many would describe as 'Up-tempo' or 'Ratchet.' This makes for fun music, but also tiring, because so many artist have attempted this 'Ratchet' sound. Yes, 'Ratchet' was a trend at one time, but so many have move passed it. It was just a phase.

I'm hoping that Kelly Rowland releases authentic material this era. Kelly is in a happy stage currently, so I expect her music to come from that particular perspective. I've enjoyed singles from Kelly Rowland such as 'Dirty Laundry,' where Kelly sings from a personal story, because I think that makes for authenic music. Meaning currently, I would expect Kelly to sing from the perspective of motherhood or love songs.

Yes, this sounds dated, but it's a new direction for Kelly, in general. It's clear that this isn't the sound many are asking for from Kelly Rowland at the moment. I'm just not looking forward to a 'Ratchet' sound from Kelly, because it doesn't seem current or organic. Kelly needs music with substance. Of course, I prefer an R&B sound from Kelly, but the singer is definitely having fun!

I mean, look at the IG clip below. She's clearly enjoying this tune. And before continuing to express my take, I'll have to hear the song in full anyway. Who knows? My thoughts could change sooner or later.

She's worrrrrrrking... *Common voice*
