Flavor In The Street

Hello World! Flavor In The Street was something I wanted to do, because I felt I had grown since my previous websites. I feel like I was seeing blogging from a different perspective. At one time, I saw this as more of something I did for fun, and I still continue to see blogging as this, but I also have grown a passion for it. I'm getting a platform, where I get to fully express my views on topics in music. I feel like my opinion is rarely heard, and I want to be viewed as the voice of my generation soon. We never get a platform to talk, and it's now just the beginning.

The idea of Flavor In The Street was just to restart my brand. I had gotten the idea of the title from one of my favorite shows, "Living Single" along with the slang, 'Word On The Street.' As many of you know, Khadijah James had owned a magazine company titled, "Flavor." I got the idea by combining the two, which later birthed 'Flavor In The Street.'

I'm quite a hard-working kid. I manage to keep my grades together, while running this blog. I've never quite looked into adding more writers to help grow the brand, but of course I'm open to trying new ideas. I plan to adventure quite a lot when I get older, and my taste in music varies.

Janet Jackson Performs In Vancouver For The Opening Night Of The 'Unbreakable' Tour:

Last night, Janet Jackson performed in Vancouver for the opening night of her 'Unbreakable' tour.

Since it was the singer’s opening night, I stayed online to see clips and merchandise from the tour. Of course, it was an exciting experience despite not attending, as Janet had a few surprises. The opening song on the set list is a new song she recorded with Missy Elliott titled, 'Burn It Up'. She also performed new song titled, ‘Unbreakable.’ Janet was emotional on her opening night as her eyes were watery, while telling her fans how much she’s missed them.

I recalled many saying how full of energy the performer was, and I notice it. It’s been four years since Janet has toured. I’m sure this is a refreshing experience. Janet hasn’t toured in years, and fans missed the singer. Maybe it was a great decision for Janet to take a short break from the music industry, as it brought an energetic return from the singer. I’ve seen Janet live once on her ‘Number Ones, Up Close and Personal,’ tour, though I agree the singer is vibrant on her ‘Unbreakable’ tour. I noticed from last night’s concert, that the ‘Unbreakable’ tour is very simplistic, meaning there isn’t much production value as it allows more focus to the performance.

The singer didn’t do a costume change, as Janet appeared fully clothed in white harem pants, and a white top. I’m not bothered that Janet is fully dressed, though I joked on how I was sure the singer was hot from performing fully dressed. I didn’t like the harem pants, as they were very baggy, though I thought Janet’s top resembled the top she wore on the 'janet. tour.’ Janet was really glowing last night, so it was obvious that she was very passionate about touring again. I saw one picture from last night, that looked familiar to her facial appearance on the ‘All For You’ tour (or maybe it was how wet and curly her hair was?). She hasn't aged a bit.

Can’t wait to see if Janet will be coming near my city soon. Hopefully, she extends the tour, as she’s not coming near my city yet.

Sound nice. It's a song that really expresses that Janet is in a happy state, because it's just a joyful song (at least from the footage).

I was excited to hear Janet’s live performance of ‘No Sleeep,’ though I wasn’t aware Janet was performing new numbers from ‘Unbreakable’ nor did many share clips from her ‘No Sleeep’ performance. This clip, in particular I didn’t like because Janet’s voice sounded auto tuned as she sung her verse.

I’d actually like to hear the studio version of ‘Burn It Up,’ before sharing my thoughts on the song. Janet performed many new songs from ‘Unbreakable,’ so I’m curious of which she’ll be releasing as the next single. From the live performance, I could imagine ‘Burn It Up’ being a single. It’s an up-tempo, and the audience’s responded well to the song. I’d just have to hear the studio version, because it sounds like a song she might’ve recorded years ago. Maybe during the Discipline era? Missy really helps brings the enthusiasm to the song though, as I bopped to her verse.
