Tory Lanez Performs ‘Say It’ On ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’/ Includes Brownstone
Tory Lanez visited ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live,’ where the singer performed his hit single, ‘Say It.’
Towards the end of the performance, Tory says that this performance was special in particular, because Brownstone also performed with him. Brownstone’s hit single, ‘If You Love Me’ is sampled in ‘Say It.’ The singer gave a special shoutout to the Brownstone members, and allowed them to showcase their talent, as they sung along with Tory on stage.
"The Brownstone reunion happened live on Jimmy Kimmel with me tonight THEY HAVEN'T SANG TOGETHER IN 20 years #HONORED," Lanez wrote on Twitter after the performance.
Charmayne "Maxee" Maxwell, member of Brownstone, passed away last year. I wasn’t aware of who the woman was that performed along with Brownstone. I did a little researching, because I was curious to know if she might’ve been related to Maxwell. She says that she’s a member of Brownstone. I was only aware of who the original members were, so I wasn’t familiar with who she was.
I happen to like the song, especially because of the Brownstone sample. I also like that Tory included Brownstone in this performance and gave them this platform to perform. Watch the performance below:
Random Note: I was actually curious to hear if Tory sounded well live, as auto tune is included in the song. Though the singer used a backing track for support, he still sounded well.
