Mariah Carey changed plans from what she shared on Facebook Live in February. Promoting her break-up song, “I Don’t” Carey discussed whether she’d be releasing an album. “I'm gonna be doing singles, because it's more fun for me to just write singles and not focus totally on doing one whole album,” she said.
Following rumors that Carey may be dropped from her label, Epic Records announced that she launched her own record label, "Butterfly MC Records" and would be releasing a new album this year.
The chanteuse celebrated her label imprint at Catch LA with support from Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid, Floyd Mayweather, Nick Cannon, etc.
Carey also spoke to ET, teasing new music to arrive “very soon.”
