R. Kelly has had a troubling week as the R&B singer is being accused of holding young women in a "cult" against their will. While details are still coming forward, a petition has been created that is calling for Sony Records to drop him from their label. The Care2 petition has gathered over 15,000 signatures so far. “We must not let habitual abusers float above justice simply because they are rich and famous,” the petition states. “Let’s work together to turn R. Kelly into a symbol for victim’s rights, reminding abusers everywhere that no one is untouchable.” The petition also mentions their actions in the past to shed light on other "sexual predators" including Bill O’Reilly, Bill Cosby, and Dr. Luke. “It’s time to speak out just as loudly against R. Kelly,” the Care2 petition reads.
The petition is currently growing in signatures, but Sony has not yet responded to it.
