After teasing fans with her single “High” in May, Ledisi has been rather silent about her intentions until now. The R&B powerhouse finally spilled the beans, speaking exclusively to Billboard. As “High” continues to rise on the Adult R&B chart, Ledisi is readying her ninth studio album, officially titled “Let Love Rule.” The ninth effort will see Ledisi collaborating with singers/songwriters and producers such as John Legend, BJ the Chicago Kid, Kirk Franklin, Sebastian Kole, DJ Camper, DJ Khalil and Prince Charlez. Ledisi, along with Rex Rideout produced the album, which Billboard says will span many different musical styles "from ‘70s soul to 21st century R&B and multiple themes about life, love and empowerment.
Speaking on the album, Ledisi says, "This album was one of the hardest I’ve ever worked on. We were looking for songs that could stand the test of time. This wasn’t a quickie; it was about great songwriting. I’ve come back to what I love about R&B and also what I love about today’s music.”
Let Love Rule arrives in stores on September 22nd.
