Flavor In The Street

Hello World! Flavor In The Street was something I wanted to do, because I felt I had grown since my previous websites. I feel like I was seeing blogging from a different perspective. At one time, I saw this as more of something I did for fun, and I still continue to see blogging as this, but I also have grown a passion for it. I'm getting a platform, where I get to fully express my views on topics in music. I feel like my opinion is rarely heard, and I want to be viewed as the voice of my generation soon. We never get a platform to talk, and it's now just the beginning.

The idea of Flavor In The Street was just to restart my brand. I had gotten the idea of the title from one of my favorite shows, "Living Single" along with the slang, 'Word On The Street.' As many of you know, Khadijah James had owned a magazine company titled, "Flavor." I got the idea by combining the two, which later birthed 'Flavor In The Street.'

I'm quite a hard-working kid. I manage to keep my grades together, while running this blog. I've never quite looked into adding more writers to help grow the brand, but of course I'm open to trying new ideas. I plan to adventure quite a lot when I get older, and my taste in music varies.

Drake And Rihanna Website Is Latest Joanne The Scammer Hoax

Drake and Rihanna were left in the middle of a troll, which disappointed anticipated fans.

Drakeandrihanna.com, which featured the rapper's OVO logo, led to murmurs that a joint album or music video to their recent collaboration,“Too Good” was arriving. The site went live with a countdown clock that planned to unveil the surprise on September 8th at 9 p.m. ET.

Both Drake and Rihanna's reps denied having involvement with the website.

Since then, the countdown clock has been replaced with a clip that features comedian, Joanne The Scammer. She, who attended the “Video Music Awards," was upset at Drake for not saying hi to her. “I’ve waited so long to take a selfie with you [Drake]. And you weren’t there to take it. But you come out for Rihanna? I’m prettier, and more iconic, TBH [To Be Honest],” the comedian says.

Joanne teamed up with Super Deluxe to create the mysterious site.

There's a possibility that something is still up. Could Rihanna be signing to Drake's OVO label? See the tweet below that's causing commotion:

Watch: Alicia Keys Pays Tribute To Martin Luther King Jr. #VMAs

Alicia Keys attended MTV's “Video Music Awards” with her husband, Swizz Beatz. Keys shared knowledge with the audience, as yesterday marked the 53rd anniversary of activist, Martin Luther King Jr.'s “I Have A Dream” speech. In honor of the speech, she recited a poem she wrote.

Although Keys attended the event, she oddly didn't perform. Perhaps it was best, as she would've been overshadowed by the other performers. Speaking of which, the singer took to Twitter following Beyoncé’s set, to praise her performance.

She was quickly hit with pregnancy rumors for her appearance. It wasn't noticeable on this end, but do any of you think baby #3 is on the way?

Keys didn't address the rumors, but instead responded to the criticism on her being make-up free. Apparently, the media is putting words in her mouth:

If the pregnancy rumors are true, this could lead to a longer wait on her new album. She may not be concerned as “In Common” didn't even debut on the U.S. Hot 100 (the project's first single).

Following her speech, Alicia Keys presented the award for 'Best Male Artist' which Calvin Harris won. Listen to Keys' speech and hoarse acapella below:

Usher Visits “Jimmy Kimmel Live” In Promo Of Biopic, “Hands Of Stone” And New Album

Usher's new film, “Hands Of Stone” hits theaters today. The singer visited “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” where he revealed the preperation for his portrayal as Sugar Ray Leonard. I trained for a yearboxing. And in preparation I really wanted to understand what it was to thinkmove and feel like a boxer,” he said. The film could lead to many having respect for Usher as an actor.

While the interview centered on his role, he announced on the late night show that his forthcoming album, “Hard II Love” is now available to pre-order worldwide.

Once pre-ordered, fans will be able to hear two new tracks, “Missin U” and “Champions” which is featured in his new film. For long-time fans, “Missin U” is a winner, as the chorus is reminiscent to the sound of his diamond-selling album, “Confessions.” The track overall blends traditional R&B with chopped and screwed hip-hop.

And “Champions” which sees the singer crossing over musically. The song features fellow actor Édgar Ramírez, who brings along a Spanish flare which is also present in the production.

Usher Readies New Album, “Hard II Love” For September

Usher has renamed his forthcoming album, which is said to arrive on September 16th.

While hanging with artist, Daniel Arsham, Usher slipped in that the upcoming album was titled, “Flawed.” Arsham sculptured the cover art for the singles, “Crash” and “No Limit.” It's clear to say that the artist also had involvement in the album's artwork.

According to an iTunes pre-order in New Zealand, Usher's upcoming set is titled, “Hard II Love” which will supposedly arrive on September 16th.

The day is finally coming. Also, Usher's upcoming film, “Hands Of Stone” hits theaters tomorrow. Maybe he believes the film will be good support for the LP.  Hopefully, he takes advantage of the VMAs this Sunday and decides to perform.

UPDATE: Usher confirms that “Hard II Love” will be available to pre-order worldwide tonight. He will also reveal more during his first Facebook live at 5PM PST.

What are your thoughts? It's clear the singer took an artistic approach with the artwork, however I'm certainly not a fan of the bust.

Black Twitter Jokes Bow Wow’s Flopping Career: #BowWowAintBeenPoppinSince

Bow Wow can't seem to catch a break, as the rapper-turned actor was joked by Black Twitter last night.

Moss had an heated exchange with his ex-fiance, Erica Mena through social media of course. Mena spoke to VladTV, opening up on her breakup with Bow Wow. She claims she left in the relationship. However, the outspoken actor denied the claim, with an immature rant.

Continuing to joke the reality star, Moss took to “The Shade Room” writing, “I ain't beef'n w this metro hoe. She already dusted. Braud ain't been on tv since the Jeffersons was advertising 'new episodes.”

The tables eventually turned on him, as Black Twitter joked the actor's flopping career (#BowWowAintBeenPoppinSince). See Flavor’s Picks Below:

Drake Disses Meek Mill In Rapper’s Hometown, Philadelphia

Drake is feeling nostalgic, as the rapper has returned to dissing Meek Mill. The Canadian rapper, whose on a joint tour with Future performed in Philadelphia on Sunday night. Last summer, Drake released two diss tracks (Back To Back, Charged Up), which were aimed at Mill.

“Back To Back” which is included in the tour's setlist saw the rapper change up the lyrics during his show in D.C. “I did another,” he raps. “I did another one / That pussy still ain’t did shit about the other one.”

Some didn't expect Drake to have a similar attitude while in Philadelphia, which is where Meek Mill is from. However, he remained ruthless:

Despite his recent actions, Drake still doesn’t appear as hard. Also, this is surprising to see him revive the beef, considering it isn't necessary on his part. While it was popular last summer, it's now viewed as corny.
